Notaria Privacy Policy

The latest privacy and usage terms for Notaria.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Notaria ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Notaria mobile application and any related websites, support channels, or purchase services (collectively, the "Service"). Notaria is an offline-first reading, note-taking, OCR, transcription, recall, and quiz app. Your library content is stored locally on your device. Notaria has no AI features and does not send your notes, quotes, scans, or transcripts to any server. Limited data is processed only for book metadata lookup, purchases, and anonymous analytics as described below. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the Service. Effective Date: March 15, 2026

1. Who We Are

Controller / Business: Notaria Privacy Contact: trackit.tr@gmail.com

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through:

  • The Notaria iOS and Android app
  • In-app on-device OCR, transcription, notes, quotes, quizzes, and book lookup
  • Purchase and entitlement processing for the one-time Premium
  • Support, legal, and compliance communications relating to the Service

3. Information We Collect

A. Information you create or store in the app Depending on how you use Notaria, the app stores book metadata, notes, quotes, audio notes, transcripts, OCR scan results, quiz history, and backup files locally on your device. This content stays on your device and is not uploaded to us. B. Information collected from device permissions If you grant permission, the app may access your camera, photo library, files, microphone, and notifications. You can deny these in your device settings. C. Purchase and entitlement information If you buy Premium, we process purchase and entitlement data through Adapty (on top of Apple/Google in-app purchases) to unlock and restore your one-time purchase. D. Product analytics and diagnostics We collect limited, anonymous product usage and operational data (e.g., app opens, paywall events) through Mixpanel. We do not send your notes, quotes, OCR text, or transcripts to analytics tools. E. Book lookup data When you look up a book, we send your title/author or ISBN query to book metadata providers (Open Library, Google Books) to return book details. No note or library content is sent.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide the core app experience (local storage, on-device OCR and transcription, quizzes, recall)
  • Deliver and restore the one-time Premium purchase
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix issues
  • Measure product usage anonymously to improve reliability and performance
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use

5. Legal Bases for Processing

Where required by applicable law, we process personal data under one or more of these legal bases: Contract (to provide the Service), Legitimate interests (to secure the Service and improve reliability), Consent (for device permissions), and Legal obligation.

6. On-Device Processing

A. Local-first storage: Your library content is stored locally on your device. There is no automatic multi-device sync and no cloud copy of your content. B. On-device OCR and transcription: Page scanning and voice transcription run entirely on your device. Images and audio are not sent to us or to any third-party service. C. No AI or cloud content processing: Notaria does not use AI to generate, summarize, or transform your content, and it does not send your notes, quotes, OCR text, or transcripts to any server. D. Connectivity: The app only needs a connection to look up book metadata and to download an on-device speech model the first time you transcribe.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We may disclose information to service providers (Adapty for purchases, Mixpanel for anonymous analytics, and book metadata providers Open Library and Google Books), law enforcement or regulators (where required), or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information. We do not knowingly share your content with advertisers for ad targeting.

8. Data Retention, Security, and Transfers

Local app content remains on your device until you delete it. Purchase and entitlement records are retained as long as reasonably necessary to operate the one-time Premium purchase. Limited analytics and purchase data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the USA. Because your content is stored locally, you are responsible for securing access to your device. We use reasonable technical measures, but no method is completely secure.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You can revoke device permissions, delete local notes/backups, or disable notifications at any time. Because your content lives on your device, deleting it in the app removes it. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to processing of the limited data we handle by contacting us.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

11. Changes and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will adjust the Effective Date and post the updated version. For privacy questions or requests, contact: trackit.tr@gmail.com
